I’m working on 4 “Funnel Starters” for my Funnel World hack, and I’d love feedback from anyone who has a couple of minutes to read them over. Spoilers!

  1. The dog men and plague pits sound really fun and easy to quickly get involved in. For funnels, I think I personally prefer adventures that start the PCs off right in the middle of some chaos because it more readily explains why these villagers are forced to get involved, compared to the first involvement being a moral high-ground of some kind (ie “I can’t let this go on”). I guess it feels like a villager with 2 HP is less likely to allow that moral high ground to spur them into action, but once their lives are threatened then yea – they might be more likely to take it personally.

That said, these all sound awesome and I want to play them!

  2. This is brilliant, exactly what our playtest was missing the other night. All of them exemplify the theme that I kept returning to again and again with my PCs: “You are absolute crap, many of you are critically stupid or disabled, but you are the very best your village have to offer.”

These adventure starters seem more balanced for the epic-level awful of the villager PCs. My guys were too used to DW, and decided Wolf-riding Ogres were the greatest threat to their village, Hoggsty, which was promptly destroyed.

  3. Yeah, I’m attached to the font, but I will dig around to see if I can find something a similar feel but more legibility.

    Thanks for the feedback, folks!
