The first session, my players found on a goblin shaman a little paint pot with glowing paint. They learned that when a certain sigil was painted with the paint on doors, and then the door was later opened, it would make the pot rattle. I gave them 4 more uses.

Now, on another shaman they have found a necklace of animal teeth (mostly wolves/dogs).  What do you think? My thief took it. He also has taken a headdress of crow feathers from another goblin shaman (they’ve been fighting a lot of goblins recently).

For the teeth necklace, I’m leaning towards something like – he can eat anything organic, even rotting stinky stuff. That seems like it would appeal and be useful to a goblin.

For the crow headdress – either something to do with vision; or something to do with flight/feather falling.

Suggestions?

  1. Depends on your type of Goblin. How serious are they, in terms of fiction? Are they the demented, psychotic, and downright hilarious versions? In which case I would make the necklace allow you to eat anything organic. Or are they just the tiny, (again) psychotic, murdering vermin? More cruel than funny. In which case I would go for the bound wolf spirit.

  2. crow headdress makes me think of death as well; if they are vengeful creatures perhaps something similar to the fighter’s move “through Death’s Eyes” could let you see “who has died in combat and who killed them”

  3. necklace of teeth- when a tooth from the necklace is planted in barren soil, and left over night. an ivory tree will grow bearing white fruit. the fruit tastes like and has the nutritional value of whatever the tooth’s owner last ate.  there are 5 teeth on the necklace. you may only add 1 tooth from any one source and the previous owner of any added tooth must be dead.

crow headress-  when wearing the headress you may crawl into the mouth of any liveing crow or raven. once inside you see through the birds eyes but have no control of it. at any time you may safely exit the bird by crawling out it’s mouth again.  anyone witnessing you enter or exit a crow in this manner is stunned with horror until the process is complete.  how the headress works and how a fully grown man can easily, even effortlessly, crawl into a small crow’s mouth are questions you are best not to ask …. at the risk of your sanity
