In tonight’s hangout, I’m going to try and use the Phase Trio from FATE Core to make custom bonds. It’ll work the same way as making aspects, but it’s just for inventing bonds instead.
I’ll write a post about how well it went. It seems like a pretty good idea right now.
But every playbook still has their normal number of bonds?
Yeah. The phase trio works because all classes have at least three bonds, as far as I’m aware.
The rest of the bonds can be chosen from the list as normal, or you can use what was already established in the phase trio to invent the rest. Or wait until you get a better idea.
Well the bonds are some good examples in the core book but if anyone makes some good ones that can be used for other DW games, feel free to share them with the DW Tavern.
Actually, I’m getting a bit tired of those on the sheets… After the amount of games I’ve played, they just seem so static. 🙁
I’ve considered making five alternate bonds for each playbook, per other playbook, just so that people have some different options.
For example, a Thief will have bonds tailored to Fighters:
__________ needs my skill when their brawn can’t solve all their problems.
I can always rely on __________ to get me out of trouble.
The day ___________ and I met, he swore he’d cut of my hands if I ever touched his weapon.
Each class would have tailored bonds to each other class, as fits those classes.
I typically write my own bonds before he session. Especially e thief one about stealing from someone else goes on my nerves.
.
interested in seeing this.
It’s Fantasy Vigilantes meets Dragons vs Krakens
Someone needs to write some rules for player – authored bonds/Hx/relationships as part of character creation.
