Had a wizard once use one as a bludgeoning weapon after it got stuck to his hand with spiderweb. It was the only damage he managed to deal all session, so he was pretty proud of himself.
we apply the adventuring gear rule also: once you mark a use, the book stays in your inventory, so you may use it again to spout lore for the same topic, maybe specifying a different chapter. It’s cool, after a while the wizard actually goes around with a small library even when dungeon crawling, and every book becomes more detailed and significant every time it’s used.
