I have a player who wants to start gathering a lot of hirelings together and eventually create his own army to raid, pillage, and other nasty things.  I told him the best bet would probably be a Compendium Class, so I started to draw one up in preparation of the eventual day he has enough followers for it. This is the Warlord. What does everyone think? Comments and critique?

  1. I learned the same thing the other day – please set your sharing for this file to anyone who has the link, then we can get to it without asking permission and waiting to receive it.  I am intrigued!

  2. Okay, so here are my thoughts (and I’m admittedly quite new to DW so take it with a grain of salt)… I really like the somewhat “intangible” use of morale, it plays a nice role in the moves yet isn’t overly pervasive or clunky.  I’m not sure about the Tactician move, though, simply because it’s so dependent on the character having a better INT than CHA bonus (else it is wasted space among moves, so to speak).  I also think a potentially cooler idea for the Veterans move would be to somehow affect their morale – veterans aren’t shaken/rattled as easily as newer recruits, which is why an advancing army that has conquered previous lands, historically, appears to have an easier time advancing as time goes on.  Anyway, my initial thoughts.
