Paladin Week – How has the Holy Avenger materialized in your game?
In ours, an angel of the god of light brandishes a flaming sword when attempting to take the soul of a Paladin now serving the Great Gator. The Ranger knocked it out of the Angels hands, and the Paladin took it into his — and it was the Holy Avenger!
The Angel managed to get it back, but now we know. And to get it, we just need to fight all of one god’s angels.
We had a Grave Knight (think Anti-Paladin w/undead) so we had Ogra-Naath aand we played it as a sort of Stormbringer-esque thing.
Haven’t had it happened yet, but I have two ideas of how it could happen:
1) It appears soaring through the air to land perfectly into the Paladin’s hand at precisely the right moment, to fly away again to some other Paladin in need.
2) What ever weapon the Paladin is using turns into the Holy Avenger, after completing some sort of task or ritual. Once the quest is complete, the weapon turns back to normal.
