  2. Noah Stevens I think maybe it had more to do with Humility than what we associate with the modern term “humiliation.” Sort of like how “awful” used to mean something quite a bit more positive. Humiliation would be the act of being made humble, and if humility was a virtue, then maybe making someone humble would be good, too?
