Quick question on the Lantern.
Hand me Down says when you Reveal the Way to your Little Light, you use the 10+ result. But what does this mean and how does it work?
If it when communicating with it to do what you want, like change shape into the weapons or bend light, rendering those move rolls non existant, ((oh dear)).
I just can’t think how it works.
Essentially, whenever you ask your little light to do anything, it’ll never act up or be a pain. It will always listen and do what you want it to do.
Ahh I see. But what about the 6- moves. I mean, if it’s going to behave itself, never act up or be a pain, then is it going to listen instantly when it stops being a weapon.
On bend light is it going to start casting back at me like usual if I fail?
When you fail the GM makes a hard move, it doesn’T necessarily have to do something with what you are doing.
On the Bend Light it has ‘On a 6-, the light is sick of being bossed around – the GM chooses one from the list and uses it against you!’
So I’m more asking after that.
Ah, I see what you’re getting at. Part of it is that Bend Light isn’t actually bossing around the little light – it’s a move that controls the ambient lighting of the room you are in. Bend Light controls natural lights, making them bend to your will. Of course, your little light is stronger and more powerful than natural lights are – after you get blinded by a 6- on Bend Light, you could Reveal the Way to your little light to get them off your back, or distract them for you, or some other creative application thereof.
