Dice Stream is a good add on for hang outs to roll dice and have a lower 3rd with character name, hp, etc…
Roll20 also has integration into hangouts if you don’t want to use their website directly.
Dicestream for rolling dice. Battlemap and Tokens as graphics in Google Docs. – That is the easy way that makes no additional registration necessary, doesn’t have a steep learning curve and is immediately available the moment you start your Hangout.
Gotta second roll20. It really is a phenomenal tool.

Also if you are just showing the players a map, there is the screen share function built into hang outs,but it has no fog of war or effects. You can just share a PDF or other broswer screen through it.
