Thinking about moves that have humorous consequences. Thought of this one earlier.
When you throw down a smoke bomb in order to steal away without being seen, roll+Dex. On a 10+, choose 3. On a 7-9, choose 2. On a miss, choose 1 and you are humiliated.
• The smoke bomb goes off without a hitch.
• You’re gone.
• No one sees your escape route as you flee.
Thoughts?
Hmm. I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to get at with the choices.
If I roll a 7-9 I see no reason to choose anything other than “you’re gone” and “nobody sees your escape route”, since that gives me exactly what I presumably wanted from the move—but that implies that my smoke bombs never go off without a hitch. What do you picture that looking like?
Also, “nobody sees your escape route” arguably requires that you’re gone (otherwise there is no escape route to see). How would you picture “smoke bomb goes off without a hitch” + “nobody sees your escape route” but you aren’t gone?
You’re gone should probably be changed to “You don’t stand and hesitate.”
Perhaps the third choice should be “No one attempts to follow you.”
I pictured it as thus: you throw down the smoke bomb, it doesn’t go off, you prance away anyway. I see now that the two choices don’t make sense, but seemed to make sense to me when I wrote it out.
I saw the first choice going wrong by someone getting hurt or choked by it.
