I’m working on my campaign front, and somehow the grim portents just don’t feel

I’m working on my campaign front, and somehow the grim portents just don’t feel … right. They feel kinda boring even though there is progress. Would some of you being willing to take a look at them and offer some suggestions or critiques? This is my first time filling out the campaign front.

Please forgive the brackets. I had to leave home suddenly due to an emergency and didn’t bring my notes. Will fill in that information later when I am back home.

As much as I love Dungeons & Dragons in its many incarnations, I always come back to Dungeon World because it feels like there is so much potential. I may not necessarily always get it right, but the idea of running or playing Dungeon World makes me more excited than many other games out there right now.

When you throw down a smoke bomb in order to steal away without being seen, roll+Dex. On a 10+, choose 3. On a 7-9, choose 2. On a miss, choose 1 and you are humiliated.

• The smoke bomb goes off without a hitch.

• You’re gone.

• No one sees your escape route as you flee.

Thoughts?

I don’t quite get hirelings.

I don’t quite get hirelings.

I don’t quite get hirelings. I understand that the GM gets a certain number if points to distribute among a main skill, any number of secondary skills, loyalty, and cost. It says you can distribute between 1 and 10 points. Why do they get such a high potential modifier? How does cost work?

I noticed that some classes have as low as 6 advanced moves for levels 2-5 and 6-10, and some have as high as 10.

I noticed that some classes have as low as 6 advanced moves for levels 2-5 and 6-10, and some have as high as 10. Is this a balance mechanism, or is it a way make a class flexible in terms of general to specific concept, or something else?
