I’m running a campaign with all thieves, so developed four variants of the thief (actually leaving out the assassin option as I’m going to use that as a compendium class): Burglar, Con Artist, Leader and Muscle.
Just FYI, I’ve dropped alignments and replaced them with Motives and added Alignments. Also, I’m running the campaign with all humans, so no racial abilities.
Let me know what you think.
Don’t have permission or might no longer be available.
Why wouldn’t humans get racial abilities?
Fixed permissions. As for racial abilities, just built it into the starting moves, since no reason to have one box to check one item off.
That’s a great idea! Taking a single class and spinning them out is really cool
It’s almost like gasp class builds/alternates in 4e D&D/Essentials.
That’s awesome, Justin! Thanks for sharing that. I’ve just offered the Thief in my campaign the chance to switch to one of those. And, I REALLY like the motivations and weaknesses.
Is there any chance you’ll do more subclasses or motivation/weaknesses for other classes?
Glad that people like them. I’ve run three groups using these subclasses so far and the players have enjoyed the whole underworld theme.
I was about to comment on how they stepped on the toes of the other classes, then caught the fact that you’re running a game of all thieves.
Great flavor for an underworld game!
This is awesome! I’ll try to steal that and include this in my game. What do I roll for that? Roll+bond with my players?
Leverage World is a brilliant idea.
