Let’s just assume I’m an idiot and can’t find the “record of active jobs available in the city of Dis” on the internet (as promised in Planarch Codex.”
Let’s assume I’d be grateful if someone pointed the way.

That way! points
So… I created a mini-ARG (“Riddles in the Dark Heart”) that was supposed to lead to the job board, but no one got close to getting past the first riddle. Apparently I made them way too hard! So, consequently, I’m just planning on posting a link to the job board shortly. Sorry for the delay and confusion!
I’m also working on a guide to running Planarch as a one-shot (at conventions and meet ups) which also has some advice applicable to the first session of a longer campaign.
Can we get the answer to the first riddle, too?
Sure! Shall I just give the answer or a complete explanation?
Definitely in need of an explanation…
/subbed for riddle explanation

Also subbed! I want to see if I was on a rightish track before work swallowed my life.
Cool. So the first riddle was: In fate’s marred cartography, to the far east lies the inkstone. What is its name?
Fate = FATE = Fred Hicks, one of the folks specifically thanked in the acknowledgments. Fred and I worked together on “Hard Boiled Cultures,” which was a precedent of sorts for some parts of the Planarch Codex.
Marred = Marr’d = Dictionary of Mu by Judd Karlman, another big inspiration for Planarch, and someone’s who’s been active in writing Dis-related content as well.
So “fate’s marred cartography” was intended to lead folks to Fred Hicks’ map from his Dictionary of Mu campaign, which is available here: http://www.iago.net/mu/marrd-partial-map.jpg
Once you get there, I think the last part, “to the far east lies the inkstone,” is more straightforward, since “Black Rock” is the easternmost location on that map.
Clearly I should have started with something more straightforward and ramped up the difficulty from there. This was my first attempt at designing an ARG-like thing, so I probably went about things the wrong way entirely.
Whoa. I was totally off. Hahaha… Thanks for the explanation!
Y’know, I caught the Fate and Marr’d parts, but forgot the Fred had run Mu.
But then, I also didn’t see the riddle until this thread, so it probably wouldn’t have made a difference. 😉
Any news on that?
