I’m having a mental blank. Was there a zine or supplement years back which had an adventure in arctic mountains and ice-caves, where the ice-cave had a mirror-self who would come out of the lake to replace you? There were also bear-riders mentioned outside the adventure but my mind had conflated everything because of the theme.

You set out to visit the Stone Witch, with the rare items she typically requests as payment for divination. Upon arrival, it seems likely this could be her last job, the process having taken its toll over the years. Staring past you, her lips are cracked and almost motionless, you must lean so very close to ensure her whisper isn’t lost. What do you ask of her, and what does she respond?

The next visitors to her home will surely find a statue.

This week, on Dungeon World, our heroes entered the city of Daviston via the trade gate, and considered buying some daggers. “I can just make you some daggers”, said the Immolator, “if we only had some metal”…and that, your honour, is why they tried to rob the jewellery store, then mind-control and murder the shopkeep in an alley when that didn’t go to plan, and the whole time the party’s Cleric was out the front of the shop, proselytising to a huge crowd, completely unaware of the distraction he was enabling, or the crimes it was obscuring.

I’m halfway through typing up the Actual Play from my most recent Dungeon World convention game. I borrowed from Joe Banner’s Bellicorn of Oldthorn and subconsciously from a certain room in Fortress of the Ur-Mage to make a four/five-room dungeon crawl. It was a nice game, and I’ll probably post a link to the transcript if anyone’s up for reading an overly-descriptive ramble. We’ve even got minor deities inspired by misheard lyrics!

Thanks for the inspiration, Joe, Davy & Maynard!

Today, in #DungeonWorld, our heroes succesfully negotiated with the elves via a charmed hostage, got their pseudodragon back, and performed a ritual to safely plant Gary the Treeman’s last acorn in the corrupted centre of the forest.

Nothing was burned down today.

Next, they’re riding their stolen horses to Daviston, to steal salamander eggs from some aristocrat.

Just sent an email to a player asking if the “pigeon ancestry” his human character claims could be interpreted more as a “spiritual family of equals” and not biologically successful bestiality. #JustGMThings

Today, on Dungeon World, our heroes murdered the barkeep, robbed his storeroom, started a bar brawl, followed by an explosion/fire, then fled. A pattern is emerging.

In other news, it turns out the thieves’ guild here is a literal underground network, also the bandit king eludes capture (and has everyone in their pockets) because the entire operation is masterminded by a Greed Demon.

NBD. They only came into town to buy food & horses.
