I posted an audio recording of my group’s first session awhile ago, but it was a bit long. I just finished writing up a summary for it and thought I’d share. I’m not a writer by trade, but I hope it isn’t too badly written to entertain some of you. If it’s okay, I’ll do write-ups for our other sessions if there’s interest.

Battlemage, with a warlocky twist

I’m still pretty new to Dungeon World, but I really enjoyed making the Tax Collector. Matt Smith asked if anyone had made a battlemage, and one of my players mentioned a similar style of class, so I thought I’d take a crack at it. I’m going to add a few more moves, I think.

Tax Collector (not to be taken seriously)

One of the most memorable characters in our group was a Wizard in D&D 4E who insisted on being employed as a tax collector in any city the party visited. Using the playbook template posted by Zarathud on the rpg.net forums, I’ve made an homage to his playstyle. I’m still trying to come up with new moves to add.

My group tried Dungeon World for the first time last weekend. We had a blast with it, and plan to keep on playing.

For the first time, we recorded one of our sessions. Mic quality isn’t the best, but I cleaned up the audio as well as I could.

So far, the party is helping a group of settlers establish themselves in a river delta near a jungle or rain forest. They’re beset by trolls, and I fumble with the rules a few times (a sickle somehow gets turned into a scythe… learning!).
