I introduce to you the Shadow Hunter.

The Shadow Hunter is a dexterity/intelligence based class, that is built around a “daisy chain” style of fighting. It can blink/leap between enemies and deal incredible amounts of burst damage. This does not come without a cost thought. The Shadow Hunter has one of the lowest possible starting hit points that I know of, and has to rely on its evasive abilities in order to survive. Staying hidden is also a necessity to survive outside of combat. The perfect glass cannon. I have been told that this class is quite complicated and I suggest that everyone should first carefully read through the sheet before playing it.

I based this class off of Nightcrawler from the X-Men Marvel comics and also off of Slark the Murloc Nightcrawler from DotA and I must admit it is probably the cheesiest class so far xD. I have a feeling it still has some flaws and is perhaps still too over powered so I am totally open to some constructive criticism. I am planning on publishing it on RPGNow soon and I will post the link soon! If this goes well, this will be the first of many cheesy character sheets.

Thanks to everyone who helped me make my first class!

Can someone perhaps direct me to a list or instruction on the measurement system used in Dungeon World (e.g. time, distance, speed)? I remember the basic ones like distance and time and so on, but I’m sure I’m missing some. I think it was in the Dungeon World GM manual, but I read that thing such a long time ago xD

Thanks!

I have been busy creating a world for my DW group in my spare time, and I have hit an obstacle regarding custom item…

I have been busy creating a world for my DW group in my spare time, and I have hit an obstacle regarding custom item creation. What are the basic guidelines in creating custom items? What are all the factors that I need to take into consideration? Is it like creating a custom class’ abilities with its own ability or abilities? Do I place any specific restrictions on it as to who may use it or not?

I have, in the past, made one or two custom items, but those have only been used by the players once or not at all. I hope to make the items in my new world more permanent and useful, but still keep the players aware of the fact that unique items are available to them. (e.g.) I once created a “blink dagger”, but the players almost instantly forgot about it. I gave it to a Shadow Dancer (a dexterity based custom class my friend was play testing), a character that could truly take advantage of the extra mobility, but the player forgot about it almost instantly. I’m not saying he was a boring player at the table (he is actually very fun to play with), I just want to know what might have caused the lack of interest in an item that I thought could be very interesting.

I hope I made my question(s) and my problem clear. I would love to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks!

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone! My new class is coming along fabulously! I’m really excited to finally release it, but I was just wondering if anyone could help me concerning illusions. I’m assuming there already are existing mechanics for illusions, but how exactly do they work? Do they have health? Do they do damage? Can they cast certain spells? Thanks! 🙂

I was introduced to Dungeon World about 8 months ago, and I’ve been involved ever since. I was a GM for the first time in my life the other day (I even developed a large detailed map), and everyone says it was great. I really really want to create a class now, but I’m not sure where to start or what the steps are that need to be taken. I’m thinking of a specialised druid (like a werewolf or a werebear). I have many other ideas but for now I want to keep things simple. Any help on what to do next would be appreciated.
