What would you all say is your favorite/most useful spell in Dungeon World? Mine is Hold Person. In D&D it was much less useful since it ended when the creature was dealt damage and as we all know, most things in D&D are HP meatwalls. In Dungeon World though, you can fictionally just kill someone who can’t defend themselves. My favorite thing my players have done is cast hold person on an enemy who threw a returning axe at them. I said the axe came back and buried itself into the guy’s skull because he couldn’t catch it on the way back. They loved it and it allowed them to take out an enemy that would have been a lot more troublesome.

Trap Soul is one of my favorites. It doesn’t explicitly say it, but we like to create intelligent items using it
I haven’t seen this actually come up yet, but one thought I have for Contingency is that if the Wizard rolls a miss, he’ll think it was cast successfully, but actually the trigger was made into something different. I’ll let the player know the real trigger. Depending on what spell was made contingent, this could create some interesting situations.
Robert Doe Soul Trap became my favorite when a cleric for a god of pleasure started trapping souls in crystals, she would then use as dildos.
Create Water. It puts out fire, it makes ice, you can drink from it when there’s no fresh water around, you can splash it in an enemy’s eyes to distract them, you can make mud, it can help you find secret doors.
Patrick Schenk So wrong, but Ohhh…So right!
Rituals. 😜
