So, knowing that this isn’t exactly within the spirit of the game, has anyone created additional playbooks or have tips for adapting DW playbooks to Freebooters?

I think Maezar has mentioned creating some of the AD&D “basic” classes?
Welcome, Jeb E!
I have not yet done anything concrete on my end. As Asbjørn H Flø notes, Maezar has indeed hinted that he has worked up Barbarian, Paladin, Druid, Bard, and Ranger playbooks, but they have not yet been seen in the wild.
The closest we’ve actually seen in the community so far is an alternate Magic-User spell table for Druids:

Awesome, thanks +Jason Lutes and Asbjørn H Flø! I’m playtesting Freebooters 2E as a player right now in a PBP and I’m about to start running my own game, which I’m very excited about! My players are excited too but were interested in potentially getting to play other classes, particularly those who aren’t particularly into the OSR thing.
Maezar any chance of those playbooks becoming public? I’d love to see them!
Jeb E, if you haven’t already seen it, this thread includes an explanation of my approach to classes in Freebooters:
plus.google.com – Greetings, all. I’m gearing up for a local campaign using FB2. Eagerly await…
I’m not opposed to adding playbooks in the long run, but this explains my rationale for sticking with the “basic four” in the initial release.
Jason Lutes thanks for pointing me toward that, it’s super helpful
A player in my game created a bard playbook. Only had two sessions thus far with a bard in the group, but no glaring problems have shown up yet

Bellmoore thanks for sharing!
Jeb E I’ve been thinking of a monk playbook; mostly because I want to create a table very much like the spell table – but for Monk techniques. Also would love a random table to make up the name of the monk school.
If anyone has ever watched or read Fist of the North Star, every single fight the various techniques are named; and every character who fights is a member of a particular school or bloodline that has a special fighting style.
Things like: Spilling Wheel Exploding Fist, Hundred Crack Snap, Every-Way Beheading, Steel-Rending Grasp, etc etc…
Boy, I’m going to miss this space… (G+ that is).
