When you asked around town…
When you asked around in town about (insert dungeon name here) the locals all pointed you to an elderly stable hand. When you find him he is missing an arm and muttering to himself. You approached and asked about (insert dungeon name here), he turned to you wild eyed and kept repeating one word.
What was that word?
Teeth
Wailsssssss
Ravenous
Shadow(s). Optional the if 2 words are allowed
Bishop
Ants!
“Hiraeth.”
The dawn of your departure, he’s there: dirty, limping, with an elaborate dagger and a mish-mashed armor.
His eyes burn with longing.
“Conrath”
Is it the name of his comrade, who was killed there? Was he simply left behind, and you must now free him? Or was it the name of the horror that lurks within? Maybe both- his comrade betrayed them when he learned of the treasure to be found there. Which one is it? Play to find out!
‘no!’
Redrum! (Murder backwards as in the “Shining”)
“Overthinking”
Peter J “Well, it better not be a conceptual treasure at the end of this. ‘Friendship’ or some shit.”

“Soon… Soon…”
Other people in town begin using the word “soon” more and more. At first it’s probably not noticeable, but as time progresses it starts being said at the end of every sentence. Then every few words. Eventually it’s all they can say.
What’s coming?
“Slime”
