I’ve created a list of alternative Vancian-like spells for my Wizard Mana hack – what do you guys think? What should I add? Remove? Edit?
Thanks

It looks cool! I’m not seeing any evocation spells until Level 7 (Lightning) though. Does this list add to or replace the original spells?
Add, though there might be some worth swapping out. It’s certainly not a complete list, I just compiled from memory spells I enjoyed in other systems. D&D has tons of overlap with their spells; for simplicity’s sake I’d like no more than 5-8 spells a Level, and as little overlap as possible (Shapechange = Polymorph = Mimic, etc).
If you have a spell you’d love to see in DW, please let me know and I’ll try to adapt it using my MANA rules.
I’ve always liked Mage Hand because it has so many fictional uses. In 5e it’s a cantrip, but I’d think Level 1, 1 Mana? How are you converting level (level / 2, round to nearest odd level)?
In the MANA hack (linked here), you start with 4 spells (and a Cantrip move – mage hand is probably included in that). You also learn a new spell your level or lower each time you gain a level.
