I updated my old Dungeon World reference sheets to include rules for Flags (instead of Bonds). I hope you find it useful at the table!

So, you use Flags instead of Bonds, but balance it by awarding XP to both players? Do you use Drives as well?
Yochai Gal Yes, and depending on the game I might increase the XP required for level-up (8+lvl or 9+lvl).
End of Session XP gives 2-3 per session
Flags give another XP per session
Drives give another XP per session
Has playing without Bonds changed the game much?
Yochai Gal Not really. I think my players really enjoyed making bonds but often forgot about them during the game. Bonds are kind of nebulous (is our friendship “resolved”??)
Flags are a much more concrete thing. I was worried they would be too negative but turns out that players enjoy acting in character, even if their character is hurt or offended.
Flags have really done wonders for my table, and encourages players to role-play with one another.
How many flags pr character do you go with?
Morten Halvorsen Just one per character.
I limit flag XP to one per session, but the original flag concept allowed for 2 Flag XP per session. It depends on how fast you want your character to level up.
Flags hardly ever change. If they do it can be a major character shift.
These are really nice. I like the design of using 12+ as bullet points.
