So Brian Holland (who I can’t tag because his picture isn’t coming up) helped me out with “A Whole Damn Army” and gave me some ideas to expand on it in ways relevant to my existing Mass Combat rules. This is the fruits of that labor:

Looks good. I wish I’d seen it last night when I had some time to look it over. I’ll take a closer look at lunch, and when I get home from work.
ok, cool
did you ever read dis?
I’m sorry man, I haven’t yet (but I will today or tonight).
I’ve been concentrating on getting the next issue of my zine finished. I’m a couple days behind because this weekend my son and I played basketball, went hiking, went and saw two movies, played a ton of Diablo 3 together, went hiking again Sunday morning, more Diablo, played our one-on-one DW game, grilled burgers for lunch, went to a movie with my girlfriend, cooked out for my birthday at her parents house and then more Diablo before I had to take him home.
I should have started layout yesterday but may not even get to it until tomorrow.
At the latest I’ll take look at it before I go to bed tonight (typically midnight EST)
ok
Josh C, I like the Morale, but might change it to “immune to being Terrified by an army of equal or lesser size“
I also like the specifics of the Superiority tags, and the Scaling Down section.
Have you found anyone to play test a skirmish? Something I just thought of, the moves are GM moves, not player moves. Do you see this as characters interacting with GM controlled armies, or allowing players to control armies as well (that’s what I was thinking when I asked about an army book)?
1) I considered equal or lesser size, but I also considered “what if a particular army is more terrifying by virtue of being worked up into a frenzy”
2) Thanks
3) a. I haven’t found anyone for that per se, but like I said about my discord before, I’ve found people interested in gaming in general.
b. I ran into a similar move when I wrote the Wench, because I see player and GM moves as little more than a matter of perspective. Since the Whole Damn [Whatever] is written as a monster, the default is GM move. I just kind of assumed players would roll their regular damage when they make the appropriate army move, but I could write “Commanding the Whole Damn Army” to address what to do about the difference between player commanded units, and NPC commanded units.
As before I still can’t tag you, but I wrote the post.
