If you have played Freebooters on the Frontier, I would love to hear how the setting creation stuff (the “See the Frontier” section of the rulebook) has gone for you. In particular, what parts of the process were clunky and which parts worked well? Are there any additions or subtractions to the procedure that you’d like to see?

  1. Yeah, I sorta melded the Perilous Wilds “create the world” section with FotF’s advice. The player investment always seems higher when they can connect their characters to the environment / rumours / macguffin..

    World Architect cards and the Perilous Wilds Random Tables are a MUST.

    Also, Vandel J. Arden’s Voroni map outlines are the bomb!

  2. I love doing maps for world creation and sometimes handout cards, so the players can write down details. So the locations are getting something like a sheet. I like using PW for most my wilderness gaming.
