Creative exercise, since I’m drawing a blank and have never seen it come up in play: what would a weapon that is both Precise and Forceful look like?
Edit: Precise is a melee tag, guys. Forceful ranged weapons are easy to visualize, I’m looking for something more out of the box than that.
A missile, a lance on horseback
Lightning Lash (reach, precise, forceful, dangerous, ignores armor, 0 wt): A short rod of strange, black material, spongy and somewhat flexible but with the heft of hardwood. There’s a small protrusion on one end; press it, and a whip-like length of crackling lightning snaps forth from one end of the rod.
When you crack the lightning lash like a whip, it booms like a thunderclap. Roll+CON. On a 10+, everyone nearby must chose 2; on a 7-9, everyone nearby must choose 1.
* Drop what they’re holding and cover their ears
* Stagger about for a few moments, deafened and disoriented
* Fling themselves away from you
JAVELIN.
Judo
Sniper rifle
A forceful weapon requires a wide movement to land a devastating blow,
a precise weapon requires aiming.
Somewhere in between there might be a power fist (fallout anyone?).
Magic seems to be the most obvious choice.
A Staff can be used both ways, yet not at the same time.
Tonfa?
A two-handed pick
Nunchucks maybe?
A mule’s kick
A gun.
Nice responses!
I think tonfa is my favorite suggestion so far. Perfect fit, and they don’t get enough love.
Nunchakus are a good shout, too. And seven section staffs while we’re at it, for pretty much the same reason.
Oh, right… also this:

Some kind of weighted staff, useful to push and imbalance enemies?
I think of it in terms of Dark Souls weapons that scale with DEX and cause stagger on hit… 🙂
A warhammer? The long-handled small-headed variety, I mean.
A weapon like a flail, only with a longer chain to give you some room for some fancy “ribbon dance” style of fighting with it.
