i am now imagining that this lore is what “civilization” tells themselves about the druid clans of carnival forest, whose oddly colored hair and multicolored garb and white warpaint terrifies the traveling populace. the clans of carnival forest ride around on the pygmy elephants indigenous to the lands and live in the high tops of trees walking through the branches on ropes strung between individual buildings. the chieftains all gather and participate in the sacred bear dance each summer
