I just love compendium classes and moves.

I just love compendium classes and moves.

I just love compendium classes and moves. With so many classes out there, I feel it unnecessary at times to build an entirely new class when all you really want is a little something extra. Sure, there can be focus issues, but those can be overlooked and heck even seen as extra; no harm done.

I like to even give compendium classes at level 1 provided a sufficient back story for the character.

So, my question is, does anyone have a list of compendium classes people have created?

  1. I have been running super light compendium classes where it just offers single moves. Like “oh you fought the shadow demon, and some of its essence seeped into you. You may take this move the next time you level…”

  2. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Light weight, well constructed and thought out (tested would be awesomet too). I realise I could make them as needed, which I do, but seeing what others have done can really get the creative juices flowing.

  3. The one above is the only heavily used one I have at the moment:

When you have been wounded by a creature of the shadow realm, you may choose the following move the next time you level:

Shadow Step: when you step into the the dark shadows in the nooks and niches of the world, choose a shadowed area that is visible to you and roll+Wis. On a 10+, you step through the shadow and reappear in that location. On a 7-9, as above, but something brushes past you in the Space Between – using Shadow Step again in this location risks attention from that realm. On a failure, something else might make it there instead of you…

  4. There is nothing saying that you can’t create new Advanced Moves for current classes.  Sort of like Feats in D&D, you just create them with some requirements to take.  Requirements like class, situation that came up story-wise, or race.  Heck, a special move could even be a reward or linked to a magical item.
