Moves for the Inevitable Bar Brawl
#FisticuffsFriday
When you smash a chair over someone’s head Roll+STR
On a 10+ You deal damage and they are knocked out.
On a 7-9 You deal damage and they are knocked down.
When you withstand a chair smashed over your head Roll+ CON
On a 10+ The whole room stops as you impressively shrug off the blow, what do you do?
On a 7-9 You are still standing but a bit woozy. You will deal w2d damage until you can catch your breath for a minute.
When you throw a tankard into a brawl, roll+DEX
On a 10+, you hit who you were aiming for, deal damage and get ale in their eyes
On a 7-9, you either deal damage -1d6 or get ale in the eyes of more than one combatant, your choice.
When you smash a bottle on the table and threaten your target Roll +CHA
10+ You scare them into submission
7-9 +1 forward and your standing with the inhabitants of the village becomes more meak
6- you cut yourself, take damage
yes
Robert Doe “you cut yourself when the bottle shatters completely, leaving you without a weapon.”
Great prompt!
When you seek refuge under the table or behind the bar as a barroom brawl breaks out, roll + INT. On a hit you escape unscathed and have a (momentarily!) safe place from which to watch the brawl. On a 7-9, gain 1 hold, on a 10+ gain 3 hold.
Spend 1 hold to:
* give an ally a useful tip, granting them +1 forward to participate in the brawl!
* throw something, trip someone, or generally interfere with any attack, reducing its damage by 1d6.
* coordinate with an ally, adding 1d4 damage to their attack.
* make a quick escape, and get out of the brawl entirely.
Edit….realized the trigger for the second move should be the character actively trying to weather the attack, not just getting attacked.
