I’m already working in this but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a project I’m working on. It’s an attempt to make a world if dungeons back for stonetop. So basically all the really simple classes and rules of w.O.d. in the stonetop setting. I love lots of rules and moves which really expand the world but when I want to play with my younger siblings and want to set up a game in the setting with as little hassle as possible(plus printer ink for character sheets is expensive). I think it would bring a new and interesting feel to the campaign world. So what are your thoughts on this hack idea?

  1. Well, I’m obviously interested in what you come up with.

I don’t have a lot experience with WoD, so I won’t have much insight into what works or what doesn’t, or just how much you’d need to change.

I think you’re generally right that the main change would be creating classes that mirror the Stonetop playbooks.

You’d also have to look at how you wanted to deal with the various types of magic… the standard WoD rules for quicksilver & summoning demons doesn’t quite fit. Maybe check out the Streets of Marienburg or Advanced World of Dungeons for some ideas.

Gear and coinage is another thing you’ll want to look at. Gear is a pretty big deal in both WoD and Stonetop. In WoD, it largely determines your effectiveness and you horde the coin you find in dungeons to get better gear. But in Stonetop, you’re a lot less likely to find fungible treasure, and your available gear is much more determined by your Steading’s prosperity. That’s something that needs to be reconciled.
