I wanted to share with you all some tools I built for Dungeon World: http://dwtools.mileszs.com/
There’s a Hard Move Finder, a Monster Finder, and a Monster Maker. They’re perhaps a bit rough yet, but I’m anxious to get your feedback.
(Thank you Todd Grotenhuis for your feedback thus far!)
This looks very cool. I can’t wait t get home and try it.
Shiny !
Probably won’t use this on the fly (not that you can’t), but it’s a great way to revisit what types of moves make for good hard moves that aren’t necessarily just dealing damage.
All credit on the hard moves stuff to RPG Alchemy (http://www.rpgalchemy.com/). Their own John Lewis wrote all of that content, and they graciously gave me permission to release it publicly in this tool.
I noticed you don’t have city-based hard moves. It would be interesting to have an advanced hard move generator based on aspects of the situation. Those aspects could be pulled into the final wording of the Hard Move that ends up as “Your Move” with alternatives below it. Alternatives that are more related to what your scenario is than some random choice.
FYI – It looks like the options under monster maker that relate to piercing attacks aren’t working correctly
Very cool – thanks for sharing!
Wow that hard move generator is something ive been wanting for a while. Thanks!
Thank you! I’m going to share it on the spanish community 😀
Dylan Knight Thanks! They should be fixed now.
The monster maker is pretty unusable on mobile. I’ll have to work on that. No ETA at the moment.
Miles Sterrett Been thinking about a digital tabletop version of DW for a while. Your tools are a great start. Message me if you’re interested in a collaborating.
Hi Miles Sterrett , just wanted to let you know on the Monster Maker it looks like the line “It (or its species) is ancient—older than man, elves, and dwarves” is reducing the die size, not increasing it.
Thanks, Dylan Knight ! This should be fixed.
Also, though not perfect, this should be usable on mobile. There’s still a lot of work to do there, but it won’t make you want to throw your phone (as it did me).
