  1. I feel it’s nicer if you put the bracketed races part this way:

     Human

Your shadow strengthens your body while asleep. When your shadow is sleeping gain +2 armor.

     Elf

While a human forces his shadow away, your shadow dances

away. When you any ability that uses CON you can use DEX instead.

This way you put the fiction first, then the rules attached.

  2. Also, I feel english isn’t your first language. Try to say “canon” in the descriptions, like:

    – Guard: your shadow helps defend you or an ally they take +1 forward to Defy danger.

    – … When you and your shadow trade places, roll +CON. * On a success, you trade paces. * On an 11+, take +1 forward. * On a 7-9, trade places but choose one: …

  3.  You leave something in the shadowland, check off one use of a renewable resource or loose a piece of gear << i'd remove this part, I think it's GM role to choose a good thing to lose (also, you could lose something "immaterial", like "a feeling", or "an important information" etc.)

 the shadows are dangerous, take 1d4 damage (ignore armor)

  4. However, in short, the class is good and quite balanced, I think. Maybe it misses some move not strictly related to combat and movement. Maybe other moves related to scare the targets, or more powerful version of “dim lights”, maybe a move related to your soul and the darkness… So a player could end with a different shade of another one, choosing a different “path”.

    Nice work indeed.

  5. I like the class because I like shadow mages and thiefy types. I do want to play devil’s advocate though so please keep in mind I do like the class!

Why would I play this over a Grim World Shadow Channeler? The abilities are almost identical, only the GW Channeler has more ranged options and versatility, IMHO.

On paper I like the wording of the GW summon elemental better than I liek your Awaken Shadow move, though fictionally they accomplish almost identical things, maybe in play the mechanic is better, I don’t know.

Shadow Hunter, can it only attack/defend/guard?? Why can’t it got get stuff for me?

What is the reasoning for INT for some moves?

Why is seeing in the dark an advanced move I have to pay for with a move? What good is this playbook until it can see in the dark?

These are all questions I as a player would ask.

  6. I do answer for what I understand:

Shadow Hunter, can it only attack/defend/guard?? Why can’t it got get stuff for me?

    >> you have an advanced move to do that

What is the reasoning for INT for some moves?

    >> wht not? What stat would you use instead? CON? WIS?

Why is seeing in the dark an advanced move I have to pay for with a move? What good is this playbook until it can see in the dark?

    >> well, it’s useful and quite good even without the darksight. If you want to play assassin-in-the-dark, then you have to buy the move…
