So, I mentioned in the AP section that I ended Arc 1 of our Dungeon World campaign with a massive nuclear Smite that leveled a village. The session ended with the fates of a number of minor characters undetermined.

I just realized that this is a great opportunity to Think Dangerous.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I LIKED THAT CHARACTER.

Alright, stiff upper lip. I can do this.

  1. (Also, true story about the psychic maelstrom bit: I didn’t realize it until I looked back at the Front at least a month later and went “Huh…if that happens, it’s basically the psychic maelstrom.”)

  2. Haha, not that quickly. Though I’m not ruling out a case of finishing the campaign and getting the players to play an Apocalypse World game later, then sneaking in references to the Dungeon World campaign.

  3. it would be awesome, to end the DW on such a nebulas ending with all of the characters either dead or missing…. then pick up AW 15-20 years later in the timeline.

  4. 15, 20, even 50 or a hundred! I’d love to do something like, for instance, establishing the currently-deceased paladin as the object of one hardhold’s veneration.

  5. We destroyed the village in our DW game, and then played The Quiet Year to see how the recovery went. Now we are back to DW to see what hapens when the PCs return/come back into focus.
