Do people have any suggestions for making writing blank bonds easier? I have to write like 36 of the darn things (6 each for 6 different characters), and I’m rather intimidated by this task at the moment.

  1. I’d rather give them starting bonds (like in DW) because the game is intended to be of short duration (and I personally find a completely open field of creativity daunting as a player).

  2. I should just point out that you don’t actually need 6 bonds per character. Even ignoring me being pedantic and pointing out that in a group of 6 characters, each one only has a bond to five others, more importantly, not all characters NEED to have bonds to all other characters.  I’d say the absolutely minimum should be two bonds, but three is perfectly fine as long as it generates a good ‘web’.

Standard DW characters have between 3 and 5 starting bonds and folks aren’t obliged to fill in all of them.

  3. Mike Pureka I agree. In this case 6 is a design decision on my part because I want a fully explored bond web and to be sure no one is forced to use every bond on their sheet. I find it frustrating in DW when the class I’m playing has one bond that I really don’t want to fill out… so I delay and then end up never filling out the right number of bonds for the class.

  4. The premade bonds are guidelines only. What Tim said. They are good to let newbies hit the road running, but it is much more fun coming up with original ones during chatacter creation.
