Totally innocuous question, not at all crowdsourcing.

  1. I wouldn’t call them ‘cannon fodder’, but the Blackwing mercenary company in my DW/AoDP campaign are some pretty badass gnolls.

    I love gnolls.

  2. I agree with William Nichols. I’m a huge fan of Number Appearing, and two of my favorite PCs have been an Orc Chief and an Ettin Wizard. The latter adventures with humans, elves, dwarves, and a halfling. It’s a lot of fun.

  3. I usually do humans, always have. Still my favorite demi-human race are dwarves. I’ll agree that DW moves aren’t exactly enticing but I love the gruff smiths and always tend to find a nice groove with them.

  4. Oh man I love gnolls as bad guys. Anything that attacks in packs and giggles while doing so is damn creepy.

I also love the idea (from D&D 4?) that they take prisoners and set them against each other, cultivating depravity and savagery rather than just killing their victims.

  5. Gnolls are mad fun. I’m also partial to any sort of deep-sea fish men – they seem to have a universal power to fascinate players. Have one wash up on shore, some rumors of undersea empires plotting against land-folk, some people really latch onto that stuff.

But #1 race is goblins. So much fun. Just raise the pitch of your voice, babble like Beavis, and let your id go nuts – goblins are one of my favorite parts about being a GM!

  6. Yes. The italian ‘zine has cool Satyr racial moves and I also wrote some a few months back. I think Ezio Melega can help with the italian ones?

  7. Satyr Bard from the zine:

Add this to the effects of your arcane art:

    – Choose a number of people who can hear you: they explode in a frenzy of chaotic, uncontrolled emotion. Choose between rage, lust, jubilation or grief.

    Mine:

Satyr Fighter: When you are drunk or when using your horns to gore at something, you can Hack&Slash using CON.

Satyr Cleric: When you engage in destructive revelry and everyone involved praises your deity for it, you gain a boon from them.
