Open debate, what would you rather play as a two hour one-off game?

Race to slay a sleeping dragon that has just attacked your city?

A bleak seven samurai knock-off set in fantasy not-Russia?

Fight ninja dwarves in a casino to save your hot babe set to 80’s music?

I’ve got three short documents if you want a better idea, but just answering off the questions in this post will be enough. Obviously I’ll just ask the players, this is just out of interest.

  1. I’d love to see a movie about fighting off ninja dwarves in a casino to save the hot babe set to 80’s music.

But I’d rather play a bleak Seven Samurai knock off set in fantasy not-Russia.

  2. Hm, thanks for the comments guys, and I’m happy to have more!

Seems to be pretty even at the moment… Perhaps we’ll just have to play them all. 😀

  3. I confess I’m going to steal these and run all of them, because all three are excellent.

If I had to choose which one I’d want to play FIRST, probably Big Trouble in Little Gimbuldan – I’ve been in the mood for a light-hearted smash-and-grab dungeon delve lately, and that one seems to fit the bill the best.

If I were running it, A Number of Knights would almost certainly run too long and turn into a full campaign, but I’m pretty sure I’d be fine with that.

  4. I’ve always wanted to do a Magnificent Seven / Seven Samurai type scenario.  Heroic figures directing the counter-seige operations, making sure weak points aren’t exploited, and launching lightning raids to discourage and destroy the enemy’s will/ability to fight?

That’s a lot to juggle, but it could be great.  It also adds all kinds of layers to what ‘success’ or ‘failure’ means.  If we live to fight another day and everyone else dies that’s failure…. right?  If Jim’s Paladin dies in defense of an orphanage, that’s a victory… isn’t it?
