My group found rolling Perilous Journey for moving throught the city kinda awkward and clumsy, so I wrote up a new custom move
Are We There Yet?
When you traverse a Parish of Dis roll +WIS.
On a hit you arrive at your planned destination. On a 7-9 choose 2.
• You are either harassed, attacked or pick-pocketed.
• You become entangled in local affairs or events.
• You arrive very late.
• Someone separates from the party and gets lost.
I think moves like these work better when written as positives. E. G. “No one gets lost.” Maybe on a 10+ they get all 4, a 7-9 they pick two.
thats a bit awkward, you usually don’t have them pick all options, 3 at most. It seems a bit superfluous.
I have my doubts about “someone separates…” Isn’t that an option the group will almost never want to choose?
Other than that I really like the idea, I may well copy it.
