Who has been running #SixthWorld lately. There was a flurry of G+ posts last fall, but not much since then.

The Dungeon World: Inglorious preview (mass combat) got me thinking more about porting other DW ideas to Sixth World, such as dynamic steadings. Anybody interested in that discussion? If this isn’t the place to do that, where might be?

  1. I’m considering running a Sixth World game in the near future.  I’ve run a quick one shot of it but not much else.  I’d be open to hearing more about anything related to it.

  2. I love the system. It’s been my favorite World game to run so far, so I’d recommend it Guy Sodin.

I’m a handful of sessions into a campaign started October or so. I’m curious about how others have used fronts, what sort of custom gear/cybernetics/vehicles/spells/spirits others have used, adapting systems from Dungeon World and other variants, and so on.

We also have a couple clarification questions on elements not totally addressed in the rules, like how others handle a Street Doc replenishing his med supplies.

That’s the kind of discussion with other Sixth Worlders I’m looking for.

  3. My only problem with Sixth World is that it is now unsupported. The creator has effectively abandoned it indefinitely, so we don’t know if he’ll ever come back to work on it. And it is still fairly incomplete (the revised version has some errors all over the place, and the Abridged Version has some odd mechanical quirks).

Shame too. I absolutely loved the idea of playing Shadowrun with the Apocalypse Engine. And if I can convince my new group that this engine rocks, maybe I can get them to play Sixth World.

  4. True true. It’s been complete enough to play many sessions for my group at least, with some little questions.

Has the creator said anything about being done with it, or just been out of touch?

Yes, I noticed some of the holes. I’m not sure which version I have, but it seems not abridged. I like it enough I’d certainly consider pitching in to make it more complete if I had access to an editable version and folks pointed out incomplete areas.
