Looking at Druid gear, section “choose your defenses”. What is the difference between 1 armor and +1 armor?

Also, what are the common animal moves on the druid CS about? I saw no mention of this in the rulebook.

  1. 1 armor means just that. You have an armor value of 1. +1 armor means you add one to whatever your current armor value is. The wooden shield grants +1 armor, meaning its bonus stacks with whatever other armor the Druid gets.

When the Druid shapeshifts, they gain hold. While shifted, the Druid can spend that hold to make an animal move. The moves they can make depend on what animal they are, but they are almost always moves that the Druid could not make while in human form.

Some GMs like to make lists of moves for the Druid. I don’t. I simply let the player tell me what they want to do and then decide if it counts as an animal move and uses up one of their hold.

  2. I view the “common animal moves” more as guidelines for the Druid’s player – if you want to have these sorts of moves, turn into this kind of animal. There’s only two moves there so the GM can rebase as necessary.
