#paladinweek I just wrote up a compendium class called the Divine Crusader. It basically lets a paladin (or cleric, or druid/ranger who worships a deity) form a stronger bond with their god, and the boons that come along with that. It’s inspired by the Favored Soul class and the Divine Crusader PrC of 3.5, as well as my class, the Champion, which will be coming out in Grim Portents Issue #2.

The opening condition is a little vague. What goes into doing that?
I left it vague on purpose, so the GM can ask the player. I’d imagine some sort of ritual, personally, but the player might have a cooler idea.
Well, the problem is that it may become too attractive. You don’t want a CC to be something that every single member of a class would want.
I think it depends on the player. I’ve had players that don’t even do the whole god thing and focus on the Law & Good-powered fighting machine. In addition, I’d imagine that devoting your soul to a deity would be kind of hard, maybe even adventure material.
