A couple of months ago when the version of Number Appearing came out with pictures I planned to give a shout out to the artists, starting with a post about russ nicholson ‘s awesome Death Knight (which inspired me to write up the compendium class).
Today I want to give a shout out to Ed Heil for his work. Ed did lots of cool stuff for Number Appearing (and Goblin World), but my favourite is this cringing goblin that absolutely nailed the brief. Ed sought me out in the early days of this idea because he loves drawing goblins so much. It is always a pleasure to work with an enthusiastic artist specialising in B&W and indie games with experience right back to Vincent Baker ‘s Dogs in the Vineyard. Thanks Ed.
Very keen on some of the recent stuff that’s coming out for DW (Inverse World, Wicked Fantasy, Grim World, etc). When I was writing the original Number Appearing I felt I was rushing to the DW Kickstarter deadlines without a copy of the final DW to work from. Thinking about this and looking through the book the other day inspired me to start revising for a “new edition” with a digest layout (that will look better on tablets) and some additional rules drawn from my old Goblin World hack. Not putting a timeline on when this will come out, but feel free to let me know if you have any edits or idea suggestions.
Aww thanks Krusty! It was a ton of fun 🙂 hope things go great with the new edition! Also it was a thrill to have my stuff appear in the same book as Russ Nicholson.
I had the same problem with the unfinished text. I think I laid out some of the Dungeon Starters three or four times to match the way items and monsters were formatted in various playtest versions.
Great news on the potential upgrade!
Looking forward to a new edition. Also currently playing a Half Goblin Ranger in a play by forum game.
