A couple people have been asking about supplements that I’ve made for Dungeon World over the years so I put them up on my site.

Below, you’ll find a link to:

Dungeon Starters – A useful format for prepping the first session of a campaign or just a one-shot.

Microfronts – Another tool for GM prep that focuses on a single scene, like a mix of encounters and Side Treks.

Ailments & Maladies – A supplement for dealing with disease in Dungeon World.

  1. I’ve been working on a starter inspired by your work, but had only see a few of them. Having more examples and with your thoughts on how to use and write them is very helpful, thanks!

  2. Loaded questions are great 🙂 I think I’ve been starting games out “wrong”*, as I tend to ask too many questions upfront about the setting.

It usually mean that everyone knows who the bad guy will be after these 15 to 20 minutes of banter.

I think asking an initial question like “So, why are you fleeing from a Balrog?”** might start games out with a stronger sense of wonder.

If you learn who the bad guy is prior to the game, you lose that “play to find out what happens” deal.

I think I’ll at least use that from the dungeon starters. They seem to be jam-packed with gaming awesome 🙂

*Not bad, just not as intended, I think.

** Might be a bit over the top, I dunno…
