I think my next session will start with the players in an intense fight against mechanized gnome infantry.
Then I’ll ask where the players are and why the hell these gnomes are so pissed at the players. And why they thought it necessary to send an airship to dispatch of them.
Also a great way to “give” the players an airship 😉
Then I will play a Captain and have 2 airships! Yay.
Man, I love starting a session in the middle of combat and then during the combat finding out who the party pissed off and why. It’s a nice way to give that session a little bit of a kick.
Do you use these “in medias res” beginnings even for sessions in the middle of a campaign, in which you already have fronts and dangers and all that in motion?
You could so that I guess but I would use love letters for that to set up the situation.
Love letters?
Sure, with hugs and kisses from your GM.
