I know I’ve said this before, but you know what DW needs? Its own version of Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.
I mean, it’s such a great module. Not just because of the crazy robots and weird mutated creatures, but also the bizarre technology and the “figure out the alien artifact” charts.
But why stop there? There are so many other things you can add in from more recent sci-fi. Insane AIs. Nanotechnology. Cybernetics. People in cryostasis.
Seriously, someone needs to get on this.

Barrier Peaks, along with Blackmoor, brought us the magnificence that is “Save VS Death Ray/Poison”. Because, y’know, a death ray is like a snake.

Oh shit replicators How could I forget those? Man, imagine how powerful the only low-tech nation with a replicator would be.
Oooh, I’ve been reading lots of Eclipse Phase. How about a nano-virus that records all their meat-systems and then uses a replicator to create monstrous versions of the PCs? >:) Genetically engineered smart rats? Virtual reality traps?
I wonder if you can roll to disbelieve against VR…
