John Wick & Gillian Fraser’s “Wicked Fantasy” kickstarter is, at the moment, $74 away from reaching its $17,500 stretch goal.

“$17,500 – DUNGEON WORLD CONVERSION BY SAGE LATORRA AND ADAM KOEBEL!”

All you need to get your foot in the door is $10; that will net you the pdf and 10 music tracks to accompany the setting.

EDIT: Thanks to Matt Mensch for providing the link.

  1. More details:

“We re-designed humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, and halflings, and then turned our attention to orks, gnolls, ratmen, goblins and kobolds. Ten races, all with a wicked twist.”

The Human re-design as it currently available – http://www.magpiegames.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/WF_TRoM_final.pdf

“Also, Gillian and I will be creating TEN NEW ARCHETYPES: one for each race. Archetypes are specialized character classes, each filling a distinct niche in the adventuring party. Instead of a wizard, you play a witch! Instead of a fighter, you play a swordsman. For example, we could add an ork antipaladin, human inquisitor and a haffun burglar. You’ll find out as we add them.”

  2. This sounds really cool but after reading the Human redesign, I’m having a hard time envisioning how that could be converted to DW. Would it be a set of DW templates with new racial bonuses that match these new themes?

  3. My guess is yes plus, there will be new race specific archetypes. Watch the 3rd video to hear about the “haffun”. I want to see how the Haffun family will work in Dungeon World

  4. I figure the archetypes would probably be represented by alternate moves for existing classes, such as modifying the cleric to make the human Philosopher. Probably stick with the core of 1 starting move for your race, maybe with a ‘racial paragon’-type compendium class to fit the rest into? I do wonder whether the Haffun Butler might end up a completely new class though. It was a neat concept that didn’t really fulfil its potential in Pathfinder but could be awesome in DW, think magic assassin Jeeves.
