I am running a Dungeon World game for the first time at our local DC Game Day event. I’ve been very fortunate to play the game with Dave Chalker and he did a great job giving me a gist for how it works.
My Game Day event will obviously be a single session. I was hoping to base it on an old-school D&D module, one available through the recent release of old D&D module PDFs on RPG Now.
My questions are thus:
1. What module would be a good fit for a one-shot Dungeon World game?
2. What else should I do to prepare (both physically and psychologically) for my Dungeon World one-shot con game?
Thanks for all your help and advice!
Print out all the sheets, consider whether there are any classes you want to leave out of the available options for players.
I’m running Keep on the Borderlands now. That first cave went a lot deeper than Gygax thought!
Read the beginners Guide to Dungeon World.
D&D modules rely on timing of encounters to create tension – empty rooms are minutes wasted and, thus, dangers of a sort. Cut ’em or make sure there is always something interesting to interact with!
