I know folks are probably still wading through old D&D material, but something else finally got posted on DriveThru this week. Now available to the general public, not just DW Kickstarter grognards.

That’s exciting news!
I just grabbed Tales from the Infinite Staircase yesterday and am pretty tempted to write a bunch of fronts and additional material that mash it and Dark Heart of the Dreamer together…
The Infinite Staircase is a great concept. I’d love to see what you do with it!
Well, I’ve got to finish reading it first, but you can bet when I have something worth looking at, I’ll share it here!
wait… WAIT WHAT IS THIS
Cam Banks A sign you should have gotten me to do something for the Cortex Hack KS? ooooo, ice burn
Hmmmm perhaps a bonus thing with Fantasy Heroic if it funds, yessss yessss
I am still waiting on the full Planar Codex
We all are, Seth. We all are.
seth blevins Dylan Boates You guys better start writing it then. The whole text is CC-BY now.
Wait, are you NOT writing it then?
Besides, I already told you I’m doing my part!
I will definitely release more excerpts from the Planarch Codex as I come across them (and I hope others do too), but I certainly don’t have any plans for a 100+ page tome or anything of that sort. I just don’t think about game design in those terms anymore, and I’m even less sure that makes sense for this particular project. At best, I might release a few more booklet-sized collections of custom moves and dangerous jobs over the next few years, but no promises (I have so many other game projects to work on!).
That works for me.
Actually, I like the idea of a series of supplements by various authors being collectively referred to as receipts excerpts from “the Planarch Codex.”
Yeah, if other folks are potentially interested in using the Planarch Codex name and logo on other stuff, please let me know. We can probably work something out, in addition to the entire text already being CC-BY.
Hmm… I guess I could also release the InDesign template for other people to use. Hmm…
This sounds interesting. Sadly, I don’t have InDesign.
Yeah, that’s what’s making me go “hmm.” You would need InDesign and all the fonts I used, which is a semi-high bar to set. Maybe a custom Word template?
Well, personally, I don’t have Word either.
I don’t think the high barrier to entry is a reason NOT to release the template, but it might be nice to have done sort of “publisher’s kit” that’s easier to use.
That is, assuming you want to go out of your way to help people make Planarch Codex stuff.
So, I’m not sure when I’ll get to using Dis itself, but basically everything from this little tome is a perfect fit for me and will go a long way towards helping my group play Dungeon World in spaaaaaaaace. So thank you kindly, Jonathan Walton!
That sounds awesome, Alfred Rudzki. Definitely let me know how that goes.
I’ll be sure to make some sort of post to this community when it happens.
Cool. Part of what I hope for Dark Heart is that it shows people how you might approach hacking DW and WoDu to create different types of fantasy campaigns and settings. If you leave out the GM guidelines, the setting and structural stuff is about 12 quarter-size pages. You don’t need a tome! Just a few custom moves can make a huge difference. And the same thing is true if you alter or add a few GM guidelines.
Fair! And a really awesome sentiment. Honestly, looking at Dark Heart made me start dreaming up doing space fantasy DW, and that lead to me writing up a coinage move specifically for handling ship maintenance. So, I can tell you that I’m picking up what you’re saying, for sure! Once I have some more, maybe I’ll even bind it all up in a Planetary Codex PDF 😉
*runs to grab it on drivethru
Alfred Rudzki Awesome. Yeah, a setting hack inspired by Spelljammer, Dragonstar, and/or a bunch of great scifi stuff would be awesome. Sword & planet!
“Inspired by Spelljammer and my high school trapper keepers”
Here’s something to use as a placeholder.

That’s lovely.
By which I mean, getting to put that on the front of a PDF is just about enticing enough to make me bundle up these moves I’m working on with some setting notes and put it out there.
Did the DW backers get just this or there’s more planar out there?
There’s a few unofficial fanmade supplements.
Wonderful!
Vasiliy Shapovalov This is the same as what backers got. I still need to post the extra maps and sheets on my website, though. And since no one’s solved my riddles, I’m just going to reveal the online job board of Dis shortly.
Vasiliy Shapovalov backers have had this for a while now and we just posted a slightly updated version yesterday. This just means that everyone has a chance to buy it now!
Now if I could just figure out how to print these weird double-pages…
I just print them as spreads, landscape. They’re small pages, so definitely still easy to read 2-up on 8.5×11. If it doesn’t work for you, let me know and I’ll send you something else.
I want to print it out like Eon Fontes-May printed out the Dungeon World Guide, with the nice cover and everything. I don’t understand the whole sorcery that makes that happen.
Ben Wray Why have I just heard about these “unofficial fan made supplements”?
Where can I acquire them?
I meant, like, my “The Old Parishes” thing a while back in this community, I think someone else did something about… taverns, maybe?
Oh yeah. The Old Parishes were great.
Judd Karlman did the taverns and a bunch of cool jobs.
Thanks, I’m digging the book and it fits into an old thing of mine.
Now we just need Judd to tell us about the Dissian equivalent of githyanki.
Ooooh.
I’m writing up Dissian Githyanki. It is almost too much fun.
The Gith(yanki / zerai) are so awesome.
I want to make a move called “Endure. In enduring, grow strong.”
“There cannot be two skies.”
