So, I made a set of old school cut and paste cards with Eric Nieudan’s procedural world building deck and hope to combine them with my previous aids for running one shots in the vein of John Aegard.

I want to combine them with World Architect cards and +John Lewis’s starter ad Libs.

Make a map with Perilous Wilds start-up and Voila! Instant adventure with hooks aplenty and a map to boot. I’m testing on Sunday! So I’ll keep you posted.

So this is my ‘ad lib’ prop for the first stage of +John Aegard’s one shot guide.

So this is my ‘ad lib’ prop for the first stage of +John Aegard’s one shot guide. To set the broad setting and situation before chargen. Each player gets to choose one option from the list round robin style until all are selected.

This gives me all sorts of player flagged elements that inspire ideas for locations and dangers and items that I can tie back into the Characters during chargen.

The sentence can just sit near the map as it forms on index cards, or World Architect cards. NPCs can be named and attached with sticky notes and agendas as we discover them through play.

The first scene is also so easy now😊

Just an evening’s play (one or two steps away) from achieving their goal…

I made this document thinking about a place and its mini story. In the idea, it’s to be able to leave this card when your players walk in the nature, when they join a city. One can imagine a random table with twenty places that are used in the hollow moments of parties.

What do you think about that?

Thanks to Sophie, Laurent and Vanessa for the translation;)

Jason Lutes is your man when it comes to tables with just the right amount of detail ti ‘make maps, leave blanks’.

Here are some revised settlement encounter tables to take around the block. The Perilous Wilds tables are meant to supplement this stuff in some places, and will be folded in to the final version of FotF2e.

They don’t feel as unified as I would like, but I’ve been rolling test encounters and I’m pretty happy with the scope and depth of results made possible by these 4 page spreads.

Roll some yourself and interpret them here, if you feel inclined!

I can’t get enough of this game!

I can’t get enough of this game!

I can’t get enough of this game! Its soooo good. My brain is spinning wildly with a means of somehow incorporating this into the Perilous Wilds, and Inglorious. Maybe even as a ‘solo’ rpg experience.

The game has a dual choice system, but I was thinking that a three tired apocalypse engine system may be even better. I Love the four ‘stats’ of Religion, Populace, Military and Wealth. Its all sorta fits rather nicely with the steading system and the discovery inherent in PW.

Hey Jason Lutes, I wanna print my own (extra) copy of Perilous Wilds on nice parchment and I don’t seem to have a print layout with the centre staple. Does that even exist? Thanks mate.
