“Heavy loads stone slung over shoulders, workers climb up the logs leading to the low-ceilinged cave leading to Kisima’s tomb. It’s not an easy climb, but the only other point of ingress, a stone shaft rising more than 70 feet to the surface, doesn’t leave a better option.”

I’m mulling over a martial artist move based on the cliche that a gang of bad guys only attacks the martial artist one at a time, but I can’t quite get my head around the verbiage. Thoughts?

Sadaka Daggers: This pair of stone daggers, taken from the lizardman king of Mount Sacrifice, contains potent magical power that can be activated only by blood.

Fungua (The Dagger of Opening): When you attack a surprised or defenseless target with Fungua, you can choose to deal your damage and roll+CHA. If the target has the Intelligent tag, take +1 on your roll. ✴On a 10+ choose two. ✴On a 7–9 choose one.

● One or more bloodthirsty monsters from another realm enter your world somewhere nearby.

● A temporary portal to another realm opens nearby.

● You can choose which realm Fungua’s magic connects to.

● Take +1 forward to parley with monsters called forth by Fungua.

Funga (The Dagger of Closing): When you attack a surprised or defenseless target with Funga, you can choose to deal your damage and roll+CHA. If the target has the Intelligent tag, take +1 on your roll. ✴On a 10+ choose two. ✴On a 7–9 choose one.

● A nearby monster with the Planar tag is banished to whence it came. You may select this option twice on a 10+.

● A nearby portal to another realm is at least temporarily closed.

● Take +1 ongoing against a nearby monster with the Planar tag.

Ran the second session of Man Day Adventures’ hot jungle action this past Saturday. I’ll get a longer write-up written up and posted eventually. Mack Corkindale, the druid, suffered horribly after getting his arm caught in a crocodile’s jaws. He blew the Last Breath roll, but the move notes that Mack “marked as Death’s own and you’ll cross the threshold soon.” Grister, the party’s spellslinger, revived Mack. His arm couldn’t be saved.

But now Mack is “marked as Death’s own”. What will the heroes do?

Situation: The heroes must convince a king and his court, all of whom are giants, to take a stand either for or against a course of action. I definitely don’t want the situation to be resolved with a single parley move, but I’m not sure a custom move to simulate the give-and-take action of a existential debate is doable. Thoughts?
