I saw a few of the submissions on here, but no discussion of the thing itself. So, I thought I’d mention the One Page Dungeon Contest, which now has it’s own site:

The One Page Dungeon Contest is simple — entrants create an encounter map and key that fits on a single side of a piece of paper (Letter or A4). The entry must be system-neutral, and must be released under the Creative Commons license. Entries are submitted by the due date, and then judged by an exclusive panel.

I love this contest. The “dungeons” (not all of them are strictly-speaking dungeons) range from mediocre to fantastic, and some of the artists that contribute draw with a professional quality. The archive is available, so you have access to hundreds of free adventures, most of which could conceivably be completed in one night.

Although they’re system neutral, they are perfect for Dungeon World gaming. Because of the limits of space, most elements are drawn with broad strokes, leaving a lot of room for creative player interpretation and spontaneity. I highly recommend DW GMs at a loss during session prep check it out — it can save you a bit of headache in the short run.
