Oh wow, I am super excited to run my Dungeon World Single Session tonight. I drew up a rough “map” of a swamp with some places the characters could stumble upon. I just drew a quick sketch and named the place. Things like “nest” or “boat” with a picture of a half-sunk boat.
What was the boat used for, how did it sink? Tonight we play to find out.
Awesome. Let us know what you find out about the boat!
Yeah, I want to know!
They did not visit the boat but discovered that frogmen lurk in the Deep Channel to ambush unsuspecting travellers, a giant crocodilian guards her nest and chases away all those who would disturb it. Fortunately the party didn’t dig too deeply into the nest and fled as soon as mommy appeared.
Finally they reached the temple but were ambushed by lizardmen. They spotted the ambush but the bard tried to be friendly to the lizardmen.
The reason the party was visiting the temple was to discover if it contained one of the four elemental stones of power. The wizard Fenfaril had read that it used to before the land was flooded and became the twisted swamp we see today.
I’m wondering if the lizardmen just like to hunt in that part of the swamp or if they are somehow connecting with the temple. The group haven’t yet entered the temple to see any of the carvings contained within.
