hey! One of my players didn’t like how abstract the Adventurer’s Kit was, and asked for a list of items that one could contain. Anyone want to contribute and help me? Or do you know of a list of misc mundane items?

Ask the player to create a list of items he is likely to have on him. Giving him a list you made kind of defeats the versatility of the kit.
true. And I will ask her to add to it, but she really wanted a common list of items, to get an idea of how it works. Maybe it’s a bad idea, maybe not, but when your Human Thief Fiance asks a favor, I jump at the chance to provide 🙂
Lauren Smith here’s a starting list, if you want to add to it. Teehee.
alas, I’ve only been tabletopping for about a year, and almost ALL my resources are digital. When I have more money, I hope to expand my collection of books, but I can only afford so much stuff.Â
I wish I had more rulebooks and resources to draw from. Anyone want to sell your collection of old books?
This is the 3rd edition PHB list, from the SRD: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/goodsAndServices.htm#adventuringGear
ooh! Thanks! This also has rules…..and monsters? AND MONSTERS! wow, thanks Stephanie Bryant. How is this available for free? is this legal?
never mind, I read the FAQ. super useful resource. Thanks again!
The 10-foot pole was included. Â Excellent.
One of my fellow players used this combo when I was GM’ing once:
Golden Root Poison (Thief) + Cookies (Adventurer’s Kit)
aren’t cookies 1 dungeon ration?Â
Tim Franzke only if you intend to eat it.
By the way. Why is there soap on the list?
Have you ever SMELLED an adventurer?
Soap is also used to duplicate keys, as a lubricant, olfactory camouflage and, in a pinch, it might be flammable (it has a high fat content).
I’m getting an error when I try to open the doc on Google Drive. Is anyone else experiencing this?
my google docs exploded last night. I’ll see if I can get it back up.
My general rule of thumb is, if it isn’t a weapon, or food and isn’t magical, it could probably be in Adventuring Gear. Edit: and has to be a reasonable item one could carry.
puts away her water clock…
?
The water clock was something in the 2nd edition PHB. It was about 1000 gp and weighed over 100 lbs, described as extremely unweildy. There was no really good reason to have one in a list of adventuring gear, but because it was on the list, I always wanted one.
Who wouldn’t?Â
new one-shot idea: steal a water clock.
from the mechanical plane of Aynisium.Â
fun fun funÂ
FOR GLORY!!
No. For phat lotz.Â
A massive list of mundane items: Rolemasters “… And A 10-Foot Pole” is the bible of such things ^_^.
